I'm still at the main corporation in our company, but I'm moving back to my original department. You see, for a year now, I've been detailed as Executive Assistant for the VP for Business Development (I'm really from corporate planning... but that's another story) because the then VP Patrick did not have an executive assistant, so they literally pulled me out of my seat at corporate planning and had me work there for three months until VP Patrick left. Lucky me, because even if my then boss left, I was not driven back to my corporate planning job which basically had a lower salary (yup, they could do that because I am only detailed). The resignation of VP Patrick left me "bossless" so the Executive Vice President who was also assigned to take charge of the business development group took me in. That was last February. I've been here since then. But now (just yesterday), they have found a replacement for the old VP Patrick. So there will be new adjustments and new challenges for me (and my new boss. Bigger challenges will be out there for him... My challenge is to look for a permanent office for the both of us... --> this is another long story) At first, I was a little reluctant because I have become comfortable here and I will miss the people that I've gotten used to working with everyday, but heck, this is a great opportunity for me to learn under someone who is bright (my new boss is very bright, I heard). I will be starting work at the new office on Monday. Too bad for my officemates at the executive vice president's office though (especially the EVP!), I was supposed to cover for the senior executive assistant (who went abroad and won't be back for a month!). So now that there is no one to cover for him, my other colleagues (there are just two of them) would have to take on the jobs of 2 people. (This EVP office is a critical office, most of the operational stuff gets thrown here). So there... re: Pregnancy, I don't know yet whether I'm pregnant or not. I have lost all sucky symptoms except for one major symptom which is a missed period. I have not had my period for two months. But I did a pregnancy test twice, it was negative. I also had an ultrasound made, but no baby was found. (that was last month) Grrrr.... I really wanna know soon enough so I would know what course of action to take. By the way, I have to look for an office where we could stay again. Such inconveniences exist here. I don't know why there are such. |
