As we were on our way to Greenhills last Sunday, along EDSA, near SM City, we heard a loud explosion. At first, we thought it was just a tire or something, but when we looked behind us, we saw a silver Nissan Patrol which was on fire. Its windshield was shattered, and there was a lot of smoke and flames coming from the inside. The passengers jumped out of the vehicle. One of the passengers, a teenage girl, got hit by an oncoming vehicle because she suddenly jumped out of their car.
This story even made the news, but it sure is different to see the events unfolding from up close.
Car bomb nearly kills Dy widow and children

THE WIFE and children of slain oil trader Peter Dy were almost killed by the same type of car bomb that killed him last year.
Quoting bomb squad investigators, Central Police District-Criminal Investigation Unit chief Procopio Lipana said an improvised "pipe bomb" blew up the family's Nissan Patrol car as it cruised on the southbound lane of Edsa in front of SM City Annex.
The explosive was likely placed under the carpet at the back of the vehicle, Lipana said. He added that it was similar to what killed Dy in Valenzuela last year.
The Edsa explosion, which wrecked the sports utility vehicle, hurt Dy's widow, Adelfa Aguirre, her stepson, Patrick Dy, and daughter, Pamela Dy.
The discovery bolstered the police theory that the same person or persons who killed Dy were behind the attempt on his wife and children, said Central Police District director Nicasio Radovan Jr.
So far, the investigation had not turned up any suspects, he said.
Lipana said the victims told investigators in initial interviews that they had no idea who tried to kill them. They, however, declined Lipana's offer of police security, he said.
The victims in the Sunday bombing suffered burns and cuts and were rushed to the Capitol Medical Center. They later transferred to an undisclosed hospital, police said.
In April 2004, a powerful explosive tore up the front part of Dy's Mitsubishi Pajero, killing him and injuring his driver and a bystander. DJ Yap

I just received some very good news today... You see, several months ago... on January 24, 2005, to be exact, I sent an e-mail to Philippine Ghost stories which contained some stories about my scary ghostly encounters (I see dead people) and they replied to my e-mail just a few minutes ago.
Check it out:

Ok, ok, so it's not really kick ass coz the stories I bitched about in that email were ghost stories and non-related to relevant issues, but it does sort of feel good to have your works published.

Stuff I like b*tching about
1. I live in the Philippines. Right now, I want time to stop because the prices of gasoline and other goods seem to go up every second.
2. I don't like PGMA's performance, and I wish she could make better decisions in the future, but for now, I have no choice but to like her performance and live with her decisions.
3. There are thousands of new graduates (and old graduates, for that matter), but there are only a handful of job vacancies left for them to fill.
4. People will always see what you did wrong and would never, ever praise you for the things you did right.
5. Why would you want to step on someone's face and stab someone's back in order to have "power"? Why do some people do this? Is it because of their lack of ability that they resort to backstabbing instead of taking the right road to success? If they do get to where they want to go through their backstabbing, how will they stay there when all it took to get them there was backstabbing and not ability?
6. I like delicious food, but delicious food is fattening and I don't want to get fatter than I already am.
7. Why do I have to get charged with E-VAT when the government is already chopping off a huge chunk off of my salary for tax???
8. Why is there a rotonda near the Shell Gasoline Station near AUF? Isn't a traffic light the perfect solution for an intersection???

What will we accomplish in exhibiting hatred towards others?
What will we achieve in making ourselves look good at the expense of others?
What will we get in giving into worldly temptations?
What will we receive in aspiring for more power through backstabbing and deceit?
What will we bring about in having negative thoughts about other people?
NOTHING BUT NEGATIVITY...
NOTHING BUT WHISPERS BEHIND OUR BACKS...
NOTHING BUT HATRED IN RETURN...
As the law of physics states, "every action has an equal and opposite reaction", so we must be really careful about the things that come out of our minds and mouths for what we sow is most certainly what we will reap.
Each negative thing you do can and will result into two things:
It will either bite you in the ass via your killer conscience, or via an "eye for an eye tooth for a tooth" deed.
This is what I have learned through the course of my past 23 years here. I hope other people learn it too.
